All our guests found it to be the best wedding location they ever experienced and we were lucky with such great weather, sun and butterflies all day!
Chiara the manager, is so sweet, professional and has a great personality with a constant smile, working very hard and running up and down. She makes the stay even better than it already is.
The castle, the many different areas, the rooms (bigger than in the pictures) all feel very special.
If you want to throw any party/celebration/wedding, intimate or with a big group, we highly reccommend Castello di Montalto!!

We recently got married at the Castello, and we cannot thank Chiara and all the staff enough for the time, effort, support and care for us and all our guests over the 3 day weekend. The light dinner on the Friday evening showed off all that is good about Tuscan food. The wedding day ran as smoothly as it was possible, and a big reason for that was the work Chaira, her staff the wedding planner did in the background. They helped with all the food, arranging taxi's, taking my fiancee to get her nails done the day before, purchasing additional drinks and even arrange for Sky so we could watch the British Lions first test in the morning of the wedding. There was nothing that they would not assist with.
The Castello itself can not fully be described in words. We hired the whole place for the 3 nights, which enabled all 45 of our guests (some children) to be accomodated in the one place. People are still talking about how such an amazing place it was, and a large number feel they will return some day soon with there own family and friends (we have already booked for our wedding anniversary next year). The rooms are all unique (the view from Loggia is a must if there are enough of you). i feel we will revisit the Castello on a number of occasions. Not just for the special place it now has in our hearts, but also for the uniqueness of the place and the location itself. it is perfect for touring Tuscany. Words cannot describe how beautiful and spectacular Castello di Montalto is! We truly had a fairy-tale wedding there in early July this year.
From the moment you see the tower peeping out of the landscape to the second you enter the castle grounds, you feel such a welcoming atmosphere that the venue almost glows with happy vibes!
Chiara - from the second we made an enquiry you were AMAZING. Living in New Zealand and organising a wedding overseas was quite an undertaking but you just made it so easy and straightforward. Your organisation, efficiency and hospitality to us and our guests was outstanding - grazie grazie grazie! We really can't thank you enough!!
We were also very lucky to have been referred to Elena Chiaramonti from IWD (Italian Wedding Designer) who is a wedding planner extraordinaire!! She was fabulous both on the lead up to the wedding and throughout our stay and we would highly recommend her services.
We rented the entire venue for 4 nights and had 34 guests attend our wedding. Each apartment has it's own unique style and each is very private from the next; perfect for when family/friends want some downtime.
From the welcome meal, to the wedding day, the BBQ and the pool; the whole experience was just AMAZING...a real life fairy-tale that we (and our guests) will never forget.
We will most certainly be back in the future!!

We recently got married at Montalto Castle and it was the most perfect day anyone could have asked for. Chiara and the Montalto staff could not have been more helpful on the days leading up to and the wedding day itself. Nothing was too much for her. Fantastic venue, very friendly, professional and supportive staff and beautiful accommodation with breath taking views. Photos don't do it justice. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone . We could not have done this without Chiara. Words cannot describe how amazing she was with everything related to the wedding. Thank You. The castle itself is composed of several villas and each one is unique, but La Loggia will always be special to us as it was the most idyllic place for the bridal party to get ready-the terrace and the view are to die for! Even with 42 degrees outside, the terrace provides a cool shaded area for hair and make-up. We hired out the whole castle for a 4 day weekend which enabled nearly all of our guests to stay at the castle. What a treat! Chiara and her staff organised a pizza party for us on the Friday before and invited guests to watch them cook the pizza in the pizza oven. Wonderful idea. We will always remember this fairy-tale wedding venue and will definitely be back to visit soon. Thank you for making us feel like a prince and princess for the day and for allowing us to fly our own family flag! We are truly honored. xx

From the first day we visited Montalto to the day we checked out we knew that this was the perfect venue for our wedding.
All our guests have said it was the best wedding they ever attended and for us we can say it was perfect. Much of this was thanks to Chiara, we cannot say thanks enough for all the help and advice she gave us over the year before the wedding. And especially for the week of the wedding she could not have done more to make our wedding perfect. From the great list of vendors to the fantastic attitude that anything is possible, Chiara can find the solution to anything!!
The venue itself is idyllic not only for a wedding but for having guests for a number of days. The kids had such a great time exploring and playing in the pool, tennis court and play room. Each apartment is full of history and character. The views are breath-taking, and the castle is just a perfect setting for a wedding.

Castello di Montalto is a beautiful castle, me and my newly husband choose to have our wedding at this truly magical place! We viewed the property march 2017 and when we stepped foot on the grounds we knew straight away this was the place we was going to have our wedding. There was a lovely feeling in the air it was like a home feeling. There was enough accommodation for all our guests it was the perfect location. We can not thank the staff enough for all their hard work during our stay especially Chiara who went to all lengths to make sure everyone was happy and to make sure our weekend at the castle with our guests ran smoothly, we would also like to say thank to both Chiara and Elena for all their hard work on the wedding day, all of our guests was really happy with their stay at the castle and we will most definitely come back in the future. We celebrated our wedding here with around 90 guests in June this year. From the moment we saw the Castle and met Chiara (the manager of the Castle) we were sold. The Castle is stunning and Chiara is amazing to work with. She made everything seamless and we all had such a great time. The accommodation is great, Chiara and her staff are fabulous and the setting is spectacular. I can't speak highly enough of the venue or Chiara's management. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she bent over backwards to make sure the whole weekend of festivities were what we wanted. She is one in a million and the venue is next level. We live in Dubai, are from UK and Finland and we were getting married in Italy at a place neither of us had ever been. What could possibly go wrong!? Well, it just so happens that the answer was..... nothing. The castle itself is breathtaking, and perfect for a private, romantic, wedding. We literally cannot find fault with the Montalto. We had 56 guests, mostly in the character-filled rooms at the castle itself. Everyone loved it, having their own privacy yet being close enough to feel in the middle of things. The pool was a great place to meet and chill, and also a fabulous venue for our welcome pizza party on the Friday. The Castle Chapel was over 900 years old and was beautiful and incredibly atmospheric and romantic (if a little warm, but then it was mid-July). We had the reception in the Courtyard and all our guests were blown away by how beautiful the space was. The food was great and plentiful throughout the weekend, although the culinary highlight was undoubtedly the wedding cake, made right there in front of us between courses. Chiara who runs the show at the castle made sure everything was perfect. Super helpful and accommodating and supported us throughout the weekend. She also managed all the 3rd parties with military precision. Montalto recommended our wedding planner Elena, and she was literally invaluable. From sorting the rather complicated Italian paperwork to recommending the excellent vendors, chasing us when required, and always being available for our increasingly anxious pre-wedding meltdowns. We couldn’t have done it without her. On the Sunday the owner (who lives there still) graciously offered us a tour of the entire castle. An amazing experience learning many of the castle’s secrets, but I won’t spoil the surprise. I couldn’t recommend Montalto enough. A wedding nobody who attended it will ever forget, for all the right reasons. Exactly how we had envisaged our special day.

Our wedding was over a year in the making, and when it all finally happened, it was beyond anything we'd ever imagined! When we first found Montalto, I was in love but I thought there was no way we could afford it.My then-fiance thought we should at least ask, and from the initial communication Chiara was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We put in our reservation and booked a flight a few weeks later to see it for ourselves. Because we were celebrating a Catholic wedding, there was some additional paperwork involved, so on Chiara's recommendation we booked Elena at Italian Wedding Designer to be our planner. These two are an absolute dream team. During our short trip in 2017, we stayed in La Voliera, a small private villa on the grounds and traveled all over the Tuscan countryside trying food from various caterers and choosing the decor for the wedding. Through this year (2018) we continued to communicate with both Chiara and Elena, and they made the planning process easy and painless. Finally, when it was time to arrive, everything happened so perfectly that we are still in shock. The first event we hosted was a pizza party, and because it was later in the year (end of September), we held it indoors in a lovely space under the San Giovanni/Loggia villa. With no effort from us at all, the space was set up and there were candles outside leading the way. We opted to rent a speaker system for the weekend rather than hire a DJ and it was the best decision! We had just under 70 people at our wedding, and our family and bridal party stayed in the castle with us. The day of was truly unforgettable. I spent most of the morning preparing in La Loggia, so I did not witness the transformation of the courtyard, but guests were coming in and out letting us know that the magic was happening. When the time came for our ceremony, I was stunned by how gorgeous the courtyard looked and remembered how romantic the chapel was. The doors opened and I could not stop smiling. Afterwards, cocktail hour was on the terrace outside of the Vescovo, overlooking the courtyard. We were able to greet our guests and enjoy a bit before being whisked away by our photographer, but the overhead view of the dinner setup was beautiful. As the sun set and the lights came on, it truly looked like we were in a magical place. Once it was party time, everyone danced the night away in the granary and the bartender was excellent. The next day, our guests couldn't stop reliving their favorite moments and even now, a few weeks later, we receive compliments daily. Truly unforgettable!

I had my wedding here and it proved to be even more beautiful than I ever imagined. I worked with Chiara at the castle and she was extremely responsive, making planning a destination wedding from Singapore easy. She was also very knowledgable of the various vendors that we could choose from and SO flexible to accommodate for what we wanted! It was such a dream wedding at a beautiful castle, charming and rustic. We received so many compliments of how unique and gorgeous the place was. It also made for great photo opportunities all around the castle grounds (don't forget to take a photo amongst the olive trees!). About 40+ of our guests were able to stay at the castle, which made it even more intimate as it was all ours and we didn't need to worry about other guests. I highly recommend this venue!

Truly magical was how everyone described our wedding, even on a rainy dreary day in November! Words can't describe how perfect Chiara (who runs the castle) and our wedding planner (Elena) executed our overall Castle experience, especially our wedding day. We had 50 friends and relatives in from the United States, with very high expectations and Chiara and Elena rose to the occasion! Chiara facilitated a beautiful welcome reception (not to be believed actually!), a bus trip to a wonderful winery/Siena, and along with our wedding planner, our picture perfect wedding. When it became clear we could not utilize the outside cocktail venue we had planned due to weather, they made all the best decisions and created an equally perfect spot for us in another part of the castle. Our guests raved about all aspects of the wedding and time in the Castle. The chapel was exquisitely beautiful and such a special place to get married. Chiara was constantly available to help with anything needed and ensured everything was perfect. She even guided me to my practice hair and make up appointment to ensure I didn't get lost and to help with communication challenges to ensure nothing was lost in translation. I cannot thank Chiara enough for far exceeding our expectations with absolutely everything! This was an experience of a lifetime that will never be forgotten. Truly a magical experience!
